AfroBoricua Reads Book Reviews: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer #1) by Michelle Hodkin

Mara Dyer doesn’t think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
It can.

She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.
There is.

She doesn’t believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love.
She’s wrong.

My Review:

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Recommendation: YES!

Disclosure: Borrowed from my local library. No spoilers.

I read this book in two days, and it was amazing. I had picked it up from my library on a whim and it sat on my nightstand for a week and half, when I finally picked it up I was gone.

This book pulled me and didn’t let go. I loved everything about this story. From the writing, the characters, the witty as hell dialogue, and the suspense! God, the suspense nearly killed me.

Noah Shaw is my second book boyfriend (first is Cole Holland from The White Rabbit Chronicles!), I love him. Yes, he may come off as a stereotypical YA boyfriend but he’s amazing and he’s mine!

Mara is such an enigma wrapped in an a enigma, it’s fantastic, I can’t wait to learn more about her in the sequels.

I’m just in love with this book and I need to get my hands on the sequels as soon as possible!
